Artemis Fowl: The Atlantis Complex

Say it isn't so. Artemis Fowl, teenage criminal mastermind, has grown a conscience? If committing his entire fortune towards a project that will save the planet from global warming is any indication, it's true. But LEPrecon Captain Holly Short suspects something has infected her young human friend -- the same psychosis that often infects fairies who can't face their own horrible deeds... Atlantis Complex.

Artemis's odd behavior and split personality is only the beginning of Holly's troubles, because someone from her past is trying to destroy the actual underwater city of Atlantis -- and if Artemis can't get his head together, this former foe just might get away with it.

Book 7 continues Eoin Colfer's brilliant series, and while this one may be one of my least favorites of them all, I still enjoyed revisiting Colfer's well-rounded and likable characters. Younger readers may find the storyline complex and difficult to follow at times, but seeing Arty's "good side" is well worth the read.
